The short version. Use Tracey to track your own spending. Don't upload someone else's statement without their permission. Don't try to break the service. If you buy a Pro pass, it's a one-off payment, never an automatic debit. We can update the service, but we'll give you notice. Either side can cancel any time.
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and 40 Analytics Ltd ("40 Analytics", "we", "us"), a company registered in the Republic of Ghana. Tracey is a product of 40 Analytics Ltd, and "Tracey" in these Terms means the service, on WhatsApp and on the web. By creating an account, uploading a statement, or otherwise using Tracey, you accept these Terms in full.
If you don't agree with any part of these Terms, don't use Tracey.
2. Who can use Tracey
You can use Tracey if:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a contract under Ghanaian law.
- You are not barred from using the service under any applicable sanctions or laws.
- You are using it for personal financial tracking, not to scrape, resell, or aggregate other people's data.
3. Your account
You sign in with your phone number and email using a one-time password. You are responsible for keeping your phone and email secure and for any activity on your account. Notify us immediately at tracey@40analytics.com if you suspect your account has been accessed without permission.
One person, one account. Don't share login credentials, sell access, or transfer your account to anyone else.
4. What you can do with Tracey
You may:
- Upload your own bank and mobile-money statements to extract transactions.
- View, edit, categorise, and export your own financial data.
- Use the AI assistant (Pro) to ask questions in plain English.
- Delete your data or close your account at any time.
5. What you can't do
You agree not to:
- Upload statements that don't belong to you, unless you have explicit written permission from the account holder.
- Use the service to commit fraud, launder money, evade tax, or break any law.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or security measures.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the service.
- Use bots, crawlers, or automated tools to access the service except via our official API (when available).
- Resell, white-label, or commercialise the service without a written commercial agreement.
- Upload malicious files, viruses, or anything designed to disrupt the service.
- Use the AI assistant to generate harmful, illegal, or misleading content.
6. Your data: who owns what
You own your data. The transactions, categories, and any content you upload remain your property. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, and display your data only to provide the service to you.
We don't claim ownership of your statements or transactions. We don't sell or share them with advertisers. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
7. Our intellectual property
The Tracey brand, software, designs, and content are owned by 40 Analytics Ltd. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them while your account is active. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission.
8. Plans, pricing & payment
Free and Pro
Tracey is free to start. The free plan reads your first statement in full (any length): your 10 insight cards, money in vs out, your money score and suggested changes, sorting your spending into categories, and one budget at a time. Statements after the first need Tracey Pro.
Tracey Pro adds every statement after the first, progress month to month (including how your chosen changes went), asking Tracey anything about your spending, voice notes, and a budget for every category.
Invites
You can share a personal invite link. When someone joins with it and Tracey reads their first statement, you get one month of Tracey Pro free, added after any pass you already have, for up to 12 friends. Free months have no cash value and can't be exchanged. We may end or change the invite offer at any time; months already given stay yours.
Pro passes
Pro is sold as prepaid passes. You pay once for a set period:
- 1 month: GHS 25.
- 3 months: GHS 60 (about GHS 20 a month).
- 12 months: GHS 180 (about GHS 15 a month).
Payments are processed by Paystack, by mobile money (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money) or card. Prices are in Ghanaian Cedi (GHS) and include any applicable VAT.
No automatic renewal
- Passes do not renew automatically. We never charge your wallet or card without you approving each payment.
- Tracey reminds you on WhatsApp about 3 days before your pass ends, and again when it ends. You keep Pro for 3 more days after the end date to give you time to renew.
- Buying a pass while you still have Pro adds the new time on top of what you have left, so you never lose days.
- There's nothing to cancel. If you don't renew, your account moves to the free plan and keeps your data.
Refunds
Passes are non-refundable once they start, and we don't refund unused time. If you were charged in error or charged twice, email tracey@40analytics.com with your payment reference and we'll put it right.
Price changes
We may change pass prices. A change never affects a pass you've already paid for, and we'll announce new prices at least 30 days before they apply.
9. AI features (Pro)
The AI assistant generates answers based on your transaction data. We make no guarantee that AI-generated answers are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular financial decision. Don't rely on the AI for tax, investment, or legal advice: consult a qualified professional.
10. Statement parsing: best effort
Tracey reads PDF statements using automated parsers and AI. While we work hard to read every statement correctly, parsing is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate, especially for unusual layouts, scanned PDFs, or statements from providers we haven't yet added.
Always verify the extracted numbers against your original statement before relying on them for tax, accounting, or any official purpose. Tracey is a personal finance tool, not a substitute for your bank's statements or a certified accountant.
11. Termination
You can leave any time. Say delete my data to Tracey on WhatsApp to delete your data and close your account. We'll erase your transactions, statements, and account record within 30 days.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, abuse the service, or use it for unlawful activity. We'll give you reasonable notice and a chance to remedy unless the breach is serious or ongoing.
If we shut down Tracey entirely, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice by email and provide a way to export your data.
12. Service "as is"
Tracey is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent allowed by Ghanaian law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will always be available, error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Tracey is not liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity.
- Damages exceeding the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) GHS 500.
This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Tracey harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll notify you by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. By continuing to use Tracey after the change, you accept the new Terms. If you disagree, stop using the service and delete your account.
16. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Tracey will be resolved in the courts of Ghana.
Before going to court, we ask that you contact us at tracey@40analytics.com so we can try to resolve things informally first.

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect. Failure to enforce any right doesn't waive that right. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Tracey. They replace any earlier statement or promise about the service.
